Does Crestor Affect Sperm Count?

Does not affect sperm count or the baby
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the query.
Crestor (Rosuvastatin) is a good medicine for lowering cholesterol.
It does not affect the sperm count and it is generally a safe medicine even though it may or may not produce the following side effects.
Headache
Difficulty sleeping
Flushing of the skin
Muscle aches, tenderness, or weakness (myalgia)
Drowsiness
Dizziness
Nausea or vomiting
Abdominal cramping or pain
Bloating or gas
Diarrhea
Constipation
Rash
It may also precipitate Type 2 diabetes in those at risk of the same.
Rarely it can cause myositis (inflammation of muscles) and elevation of a muscle enzyme CPK ( Creatinine phosphokinase). Rabdomyolysis, an extreme inflammation of muscles and damage, can be dangerous, but this is extremely rare.
It does not have any effect on the baby when taken by the father.
Best wishes,
Dr Noble Zachariah
