Does Doxazosin Intake Cause Dryness Of Mouth?
Other conditions should be excluded.
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX
I read carefully your query and understand your concerns.
Doxazosin is generally well-tolerated. Side effects are usually mild and may resolve with continued therapy.
Dry mouth, anxiety, insomnia, dizziness, headache, fatigue are possible side effects of Doxazosin.
If I were your treating doctor I first would try to rule out other possible causes before saying it is due to Doxazosin.
-You should test your blood sugar level to exclude Diabetes (it can cause dry mouth, excessive thirsty and frequent urination)
-Urinalysis to exclude urine infection.
As for your head loud noises during sleep,I think it is not a side effect of Doxazosin .
You should monitor your blood pressure because high blood pressure can cause head noises, dizziness and headaches.
If your blood pressure is normal, your doctor can considerate other possibilities.
-Ear problems might be a possible cause so a consult with an ENT doctor should be done to exclude this.
If high blood pressure and ear problems are excluded ,it might be Exploding head syndrome which is a rare sleep disorder and is thought to be connected with stress and extreme fatigue in most individuals.
In this syndrome the subject experiences a loud bang in their head similar to a bomb exploding, or any other form of loud noise that seems to come from inside the head.
If the stress is causing this then relaxing music, yoga, a hot bath before sleep can help.
If these methods doesn't help and this is insupportable for you, your doctor can prescribe you a drug to treat this.
I suggest to discuss this option with your doctor.
I suggest to consult a physician and get examined because a detailed medical history, a detailed list of medication used, a carefully physical examination and some lab tests are necessary to give an accurate medical opinion about the possible cause of your symptoms.
Hope my answer has helped.
If you have any other question please feel free to write me,I will be happy to help.
Best regards.
