Does Eliquis Interact With Ayurvedic Supplements?
keep a check on blood parameters
Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health concern and following is recommended guidelines:
1. Since there is very little known studies conducted on any drug-drug interaction between modern and Traditional medicines thus to know of any side/adverse effect one must keep a regular record of blood picture,
. B.T. (bleeding time)
. C.T. (clotting time)
. P.T. ( prothrombin time)
. I.N.R. ( international normalised ratio) to make sure of any cross interaction.
PS. You can start with the above mentioned supplements; but keep a record of the values
2. In Ayurveda, some of the anti coagulants used is/are: pippali-pippli mula (piper longum), chavya (indian long pepper), chitraka (plumbago zeylinica), lashun ( garlic), adraka (ginger), elaichi (cardamom), karpoor (camphor),tagar(valerian), bhallataka (semicarpus anacardium)
PS. these are few which I can recall and tell you, there might be an exhaustive list, but most of these are used in daily food items.
3. Check with regular liver and kidney function tests.
4. Avoid pain killers
