Does Guaifenesin Interact With Unisom?
Question: Due to a bronchitis cough, since Saturday, I have been taking virtussiin ac syrup 10 ml once before going to bed and another time in the night for cough relief. I fear I would have even more difficulty sleeping at all if I did not take it. Now I have developed constipation since Sunday. I regularly take citrucel. Then I started dulcolax of which I have taken one dose of 2 yesterday; then this morning I took 3. I am traveling and have made an appt with my regular doctor for Monday. I would appreciate any advice you have.
Ok yes. Your advice makes sense. My concern is sleeping which has been difficult even with the codeine medication. Would it be a good idea to pair the guaifenesin with an over the counter sleep medication such as doxlamine succinctly marketed as Unisom? Any other suggestions for an over the counter sleep aid are welcome, except for diphenhydramine marketed as Benadryl which on the contrary can make me a bit 'hyper.'
