Does HIV Antibodies Ever Become Dormant Or Undetectable?

During windowperiod antibodies remain undetectable
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to XXXXXXX
HIV antibodies are not able to be detected during the window period, that is before 8 weeks in the presence of infection. There are tests available (Antigen tests) to detect the presence of HIV infection during the window period. During the range of window period (between 8-12 weeks), some sensitive test pick up antibodies earlier even in low titre whereas some may not be able to do. If the test repeated after 2 weeks, almost all test will be able to detect the antibodies. If one test shows positive and another negative then it may be expressed as indeterminate and can be confirmed either with western blot or with another test after 2 weeks.
