Does HIV Spread Through Protected Sexual Intercourse?
Question: Hi Doctor,
I had protected sex intercourse and I was given an unprotected oral sex with a prostitute in Hong Kong on 4th Dec 2014. Nearly the end of December I had flu and sore throat, with green phlegm. The sore throat gone away for few days then it came back with swollen glands on my neck (painful when I press on it, but probably because I had been drinking a lot?), but this time I have only a little bit of phlegm.
I did not have any fever or fatigue, except the day I went back to Australia I felt a bit of fever on the plane (not sure if it is, just feeling like one, just a little bit, lasted for few hours and its gone after I slept when I arrive home because I did not have enough sleep before my flight or during my 9 hours flight). (4 XXXXXXX 2015).
Then, all the things gone away, fever (If it is) lasted for few hours and sore throat lasted for about a week. But then I found myself contracted with candidal balanitis on about 18 XXXXXXX 2015. I did not have time to obtain any medicine after that, but it is now better for using clotrimazole cream for a week.
But for the candidal balanitis, since I have used a coin wash machine to wash my underwear with excessive washing powders, as well as wearing tight jeans for quite awhile in summer lately, I'm not sure if it is related.
I did not take any test yet as I know it would be meaningless to do a test within the window period. So I am just wondering what are the chances that I have contracted with HIV with a protected sex?

Continue same treatment.
I do not see need for HIV tests.

Thank you very much Doctor, it alleviates my anxiety!
I have been worrying for nearly three months for these symptoms which I have searched on the internet and they are all related to HIV.
Also, I am wondering if candidal balanitis can appear weeks later after exposure? ("IF" it is sexually transmitted instead of my poor hygiene), or normally it will appear in a short time?
