Does HSV1 Cause Sore Throat?
Acid reflux needs to be ruled out...
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting the query. I will try my best to help you with this problem.
HSV 1 is known to cause throat infection, but, it may not be recurrent. It will be accompanied with cold sores in the mouth, which you don't have.
Secondly, as all the tests are negative, then, the other common causes of sore throat need to be evaluated. The other causes include acid reflux disease, sinus related issues and allergy.
My sincere suggestions to you are:
1. Drink plenty of warm water
2. Avoid chilled food & beverages/smoking/coffee/alcohol (if any)
3. Try doing gargles with povidone iodine, you will feel better.
4. Also, you try taking proton pump inhibitor such as esomeprazole or pantoperazole.
5. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor for a complete examination of the throat, the larynx, and the sinuses.
Hope I have answered your query; I will be available for the follow-up queries.
