Does I-pill Cause Depressed Feeling, Fever And Breathlessness?

Question: I had unprotected sex with my Boyfriend and he ejaculated inside me. I took I-pill with in 30 minutes of completing intercourse. It was 17th day of my last menstrual cycle. I started feeling low and feverish the same day and next day (today) is worse with fever and breathlessness. Is this due to I-pill or there is a risk of pregnancy? Please help.
Brief Answer:
emergency contraception
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
You have rightly taken the ipill within 72 hrs of last intercourse , which was again in your unsafe period and hence chances of pregnancy would have been high.
Ipill is a high dose progesterone and can cause mild abdominal ache, headache and dizziness if you don't drink enough water to keep yourself hydrated.
You need to drink 4-5 litres of water else these symptoms shall aggravate.
You should expect a withdrawal bleed only after 5 days to 7 days and once it bleeds, pregnancy shall be ruled out.
Regards

Hello.
Its been just a day since you took the ipill. Ipill is 95 % protective if taken within 72 hrs of intercourse so unlikely that you would get pregnant. You anyways would have to wait patiently for the withdrwal bleed to occur in next 5 days. Please dont be stressed as this may delay the withdrawal further. If you find the symptoms difficult to handle then you must rest but hydration should be maintained and hot fomentation should be used for abdominal ache.
I will be with you. Please feel free to discuss any concerns.

Thanks for your valuable suggestion.
Please guide me, if in this case I do not get withdrawal bleeding and get pregnant, is there any medication to avoid pregnancy being at home as I sincerely do not want to get in to surgical stage neither I can visit a doctor at my place.
Please help, I am scared..
(wanted to wait for 5 days as you suggested but the time limit for follow-up question forced me to ask this now.. hope you wont mind it)

Hello.
if at all you are diagnosed with a positive pregnancy test then you can safely undergo medical abortion with medications upto 7 weeks. This is done after a ultrasound confirmation of the intrauterine pregnancy.
usually medical abortion in an early pregnancy which is undesired has a 95 percent success rate. Its just that medicines have to be taken in a set protocol and under supervision. So you need not be worried as we have options.
