Question: I had a bad case of shingles in July. I have been left with phn nerve pain. My question is does the phn nerve damage cause swelling or is the Lyrica I am taking twice a day 75 mgs
Brief Answer:
Lyrica ( Pregabalin)-post-herpetic neuralgia [PHN]
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Lyrica / Pregabalin (dose PO 50–100 mg tid) used for post-herpetic neuralgia [PHN] as in your case ,can cause peripheral edema, joint swelling as side effects but you have not mentioned specific part involved in swelling. Phrenic nerve damage won't cause peripheral edema.
