Does Medroxy Help Cure Irregular Menstrual Bleeding?
I visted the doctor and they have advised me to wait for some time and if this doen't come by itself then take a medicine medroxyl for 5 days and this will trigger the period.
Is this a normal thing? do I need to worry about this. This is the first time it is happening to me. Should i go for some tests?
Stress or hormonal disturbances
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Delayed periods can be due to pregnancy, stress or hormonal disturbances like hypothyroidism, hyperprolactemia or polycystic ovarian disease.
If the pregnancy is ruled out, then hormonal disturbances or stress are the cause.
There is no need to go for test only for one instance.
However, you should keep a track of your menstrual cycles.
If the irregular periods continue, then you should go for the hormonal levels of thyroid, prolactin andget ulultrasound to confconfirm the dudiagnosis and get appropriate treatment timely.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Brief Answer:
Periods will occur within 5-7 days of stopping the tablet
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, yes, you will get your periods within 5-7 days of taking the medicine medroxyprogesterone acetate. The dosage is 2 tablets a day for 5 days.
If you do not get your periods even10 days after stopping the tablets, then you should get your tests done as advised earlier.
