Does Norethisterone Help In Stopping Periods?

Question: Good morning, I was given Notethisterone as I'm getting married and my period was due I was told to start taking the pill three days before my period however my period came early if I start taking it now will it stop the blood flow? I was advices to take 3 tablets a day 8 hours apart.

I can understand your concerns,

Norehtisterone will not help in stopping menses now.

It acts as a endogenous progesterone and prevents endometrium breakage.once already shedding of endometrium has started then there is no use of taking this tablet.
