Does Pentoxifylline 400MG Together With Vitamin E Tab Will Interact With Apixaban?

Question: Good day. My mother-in-law is 83 years old with history of stroke, high blood pressure and high cholestrol. She is on medications including Apixaban, Metoprolol, and Atorvastain on regular basis. She is about to start a dental surgery procedure in a week. To help with healing, the dental surgeon suggested her to take Pentoxifylline 400MG together with Vitamin E. However, as Pentoxifylline is to enhance blood flow and Vitamin E has some blood thinner property, I wonder how these 2 medication will interact with Apixaban, the blood thinner she is taking. She currently takes Apixaban 2.5mgx2 daily. We will consult her pharmacist as well but hope to seek you opinion as well. Thank you!

I would explain as follows:
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I understand your concern and would explain that it is ok to take vitamin E and pentoxyphylin concomitantly with apixaban as there are no interactions between these drugs.
Anyway it is important to stop apixaban 12 hours before the procedure in order to avoid possible bleeding.
Hope you will find this information helpful!
