Does Regestrone Cause Any Side Effects During Future Pregnancies?
Question: hello dr.
Concern :Delayed periods by 2 months
My last period occured on 30 September ,and i got married on 16 October .After marriage till date i.e. 30 november my periods are delayed . My pregnancy tests are negative and so consulted a gynec and she prescribed 2 regestrone tabs daily for 5 days to have forced periods. Please advice is it safe to have them ,any side effects and can it affect futre fertility or pregnancy chancesas we are trying for a baby.my husband is too concerned .thank you.

The probable reasons of delayed periods may be hormonal imbalance, emotional upset, anxiety, stress, or other medical conditions that affect the ovaries, uterus, hypothalamus, or pituitary gland.
It is safe to take regestrone to have a withdrawal bleeding. You need to take 5 mg tablets thrice a day for 5 days and then stop taking these. The common side effects are mild nausea, headache, etc. It does not affect the fertility or chances of pregnancy in future. You van take the tablets as advised.
