Does SSRIs And SNRIs Treat Anxiety Differently?
Brief Answer:
Consultation
Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.
SSRIs and SNRIs have the same evidence base for treatment of anxiety. Either one is fine and perfectly acceptable for treatment of anxiety. I would start with an SSRI as the side-effect profile tends to be better -- SNRIs sometimes cause blood pressure changes which SSRIs do not. But either class of medications is likely to help you.
