Does Synthroid Cause Eye Problems?

Question: Does synthroid cause eye problems? I've been taking synthroid 50 mcg since 4 months and from the last two weeks, i am seeing a pressure on my eyes, its paining and itching with a bit of swelling. I'm getting blurred vision as well sometimes..please suggest.

If eye symptoms started after you begun to take syntroid then it is likely that it is caused by this medicine especially if there is hyperdosage since this medicine can lead to increased thyroid function and symptoms of hyperthyroidism Such as eye pain,dryness,vision disorder etc. So I suggest to reduce dosage and check your hormonal levels frequently.
