Does Tenormin Interact With Viagra?

Question: I take tenormin 25mg twice a day for pvc's. Is it safe to take 50 mg of viagra for ed problems? If it is ok, what is the time I should wait between my last tenormin and the viagra? Thank you.

Hello,

whether it's safe or not depends on your heart's condition and blood pressure control. If you don't have serious heart disease (coronary artery disease mostly) and your blood pressure is not low then it's probably safe. Taking both drugs may - in some cases - cause low blood pressure. If your systolic blood pressure is close to 130mmHg or higher then I doubt you're going to experience any problems. Starting from low dosages (25mg) will help to prevent untoward effects.

If your BP allows for it they can be taken together

The effect of tenormin may last for at least 12 hours so if you'd like to avoid using them together you should wait at least 12 hours. If your blood pressure is not low then they can be taken close to each other, even at the same time.
