Does Xanax Use Cause Low Blood Pressure?
It can but it is very rare
Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for your query
Xanax is a benzodiazepine anxiolytic drug [alprazolam]. Usually it does not have any direct effects over blood pressure.
In case of anxiety where BP is high xanax can lower BP by controlling the anxiety.
There are reports of excessive drop in the BP which led to fainting after taking somewhat higher dose of the xanax, but these are the rare reports. It is not usual.
If you are not suffering from any cardiac pathology and you are not on anti hypertensive drugs then you can take xanax without any hesitation, but keep in mind that xanax is habit forming drugs. long term usage beyond 4 weeks is not recommended. Discuss about this your doctor or a physician.
I hope this will be helpful to you. If you have further query feel free to ask.
Best of luck..
