Does Zoloft Cause Infertility?
Question: Does Zoloft (Sertraline) make a man infertile or reduce fertility? I have been taking the drug for a couple years and have been trying to get my fiance pregnant for over a year with no luck. It just occurred to me in recent weeks that Zoloft could be the issue. I'm 31 and she's 40.
Brief Answer:
Yes
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I read your query and I understand your concerns.
Following is my reply.
1. You are right. Zoloft does reduce sperm count and motility.
2. But it does not happen in all men.
3. To confirm this please get semen analysis done in a good laboratory.
Let me know the result for further information.

Unfortunately I have no money for a lab and my insurance doesn't cover it. Any advice? I recently stopped taking Zoloft when I thought it might be a problem, maybe 3 or so weeks ago. How long does it usually take for sperm levels to reach normal after discontinuation?
Brief Answer:
semen analysis
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Semen analysis is a simple test and is not expensive. That is the only way to tell how far you have been affected and how much time it takes to return to normal.
