Hello,

After going through the medical details provided by you I can very well understand your concern and I would like to tell you that taking into consideration your age and other associated scenarios your doctor has prescribed you with the LexiScan now basically LexiScan is done to those patients who cannot walk properly or due to the age consideration the doctors think that the test might not be concluded if they walk for a stress test.

Lexiscan is basically a drug that is given through the Ivy route to the patient which increases the blood flow of the coronary artery is of the heart in this test the patient did not walk physically and the drug will get the work done.

I hope this information will answer you quiet feel free to ask if you have any more doubts.

Kind regards

Thank you for taking time to review my medical questions. I would like to explain. Last year I did the treadmill stress test. I did not have any problems. My doctor wants the Nuclear test because it should provide much better information. Right now I want to be careful because I am just starting my exercise program. In a month or so I would be comfortable with the treadmill.

I do not think my doctor is concerned about my physical activity. She thinks the Lexi will give better results. BUT I still not sure if during the procedure, they could decide that I should get on the treadmill. I have heard that some people just sit in a chair. Other people first sit in the chair for some tests and then get on the treadmill while they monitor the heart again. I am trying to find out if they might ask me to get on the treadmill if they think it is helpful to determine my heart. Thank you in advance. There are many different Internet comments about this. Also, what type of Cardiologist runs this type of test. Is it a Cardiac Specialist?

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

As I have already explained to you sir that LexiScan is recommended by the cardiologist only when they think patient is not capable of performing adequate exercises which can give a conclusive result. When LexiScan is done you will be either lying down on a college or sitting on a chair

Also I would like to suggest you do not google things specially the medical information over the Internet as there is abundance of incorrect information here instead of searching you should talk to your cardiologist during the day of the test that will give you a much better idea.

The test reports and the test images are usually interpreted by treating cardiologist along with a nuclear cardiologist or sometimes a radiologist.

I hope this information will guide you properly and answer your query.

Kind Regards
