Does A Fetus Change Position After Being In A Breech Position?
Question: Hi. Im 34 weeks and 3 days pregnant. My LMP was 24th Feb. My placenta was posterior, maturity grade 0, lying low near os. Marginal placenta, when i did usg on 1st August. This was 22 weeks +/-. But when I visited my doctor on 30 Sept and then on 14th Oct, she checked by her hand both times and said that baby's in breech position. Also, 14th Oct corresponded to week 33 but doctor mentioned week 34. My next usg is scheduled on 4th Nov. My concern is will thr baby change position to cephalic/ anterior, which I suppose is the normal position, and why did the doctor mention one week ahead of my week? Does that matter? Anything I can do to help change baby's position, like all-fours exercise?
Brief Answer:
ultrasound repeat
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, I understand your health concerns.
There are chances of baby to change position definitely but as you have placenta previa you might need cesarean section still to deliver the baby.
There is nothing that you can do about it.
Get a repeat scan as per schedule which will give you exact position of placenta and baby.
Ultrasound and period dates have a difference of around 2 weeks many a times.
There is nothing to worry as yet.
All the best.

Should I start walking or any other exercise as today my 8 months have completed? Could you also suggest healthy diet? Also can I bend to pick things up from floor, and can I sit and prostrate on floor? I usually get lower backache and also pain in lower abdomen sometimes on left and sometimes on right side. Why does this happen?
Brief Answer:
diet recommended
Detailed Answer:
Avoid physical activity as much as possible.
Avoid bending or squatting or straining in any kind of movement.
Diet modifications include a lot of protein and nuts in your diet.
Consume lots of water and liquids.
Take green leafy vegetables and lots of pulses in your diet.
Wish you all the best.

Thats not a very clear answer to my questions. Pl answer all the questions clearly. Also, with physical activity Im assuming that you are excluding walking in it. I think I should walk regularly, isnt it? I also do the household chores like cooking, washing clothes in washing machine because Ive heard that one should not be resting all the time. One must be active. Pl explain in detail the physical activities that I should and should not do.
Brief Answer:
see detailed description
Detailed Answer:
No mam, avoid walking for the purpose of being active in life.
Do as much walking as is necessary for day to day activities eg cooking in kitchen, going to bathroom or swirching on the TV or loading your washing machine.
In case you are a working lady then only seating job is fine but not if you are to hustle a lot in your workplace like a saleswoman.
In pregnancy usually women are advised to stay active but in your case you are having placenta previa which needs a period of quiescence to reach full term so as to deliver a healthy baby in a healthy mother.
Placenta previa can give rise to torrential bleeding if not taken care of properly because the edge of placenta is very close to cervix (mouth of uterus).
In case you have any questions in future I will be happy to help.
Take care.

Thank you for your advice. Im sad about this placenta praevia. Isnt there a chance for it to take the normal position since mine was marginal, hopefully by the next usg? What causes this condition? Is it a natural thing or something else that I might have done in early trimester that caused this? And is it something to worry about? I was really hoping for a normal vaginal delivery.
Im having white/ yellow discharge too and swelling in right foot today.

Brief Answer:
ultrasound on November is most important
Detailed Answer:
Placenta previa can shift upwards with advancing gestation but not in all cases so the ultrasound due in November will give you the maximum information.
This discharge if not foul smelling is common in late months of pregnancy but in case it gets profuse or foul smelling then get yourself examined by your doctor.
Swelling only in right foot is not very common but can occur due to pressure by pregnant uterus.
Try to lie down on left lateral side more than right lateral and never lie straight on your back
All the best.
