Brief Answer:
Nasal septum perforation
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome again to HCM.
If the perforation is asymptomatic nothing is to be done and can be left as such for lifetime but if there are any symptoms like a whistling sound or dryness than needs to be closed by surgery. The surgery is done under anaesthesian,so not painful.
There is nothing dangerous, so just relax but avoid any further damage.
Any further questions are always welcome.
Take care
Thanks and regards

Brief Answer:
Nasal septal perforation
Detailed Answer:
Hi
A Ct scan paranasal sinuses can be done to confirm any septal perforation.
The nasal septal cartilage posteriorly can be transferred or mucosal flaps can be used to close the perforation.
The surgery is done under anaesthesia. so not at all painful. The procedure depends upon the size of perforation and the technique used.
The post operative recovery period is not more than 10 days.
