Negative Dna PCR test rules out HIV infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day
Dear Mr XXXXXXX
When an individual contracts HIV infection, the body mounts immune reaction against HIV antigen. There is formation of antibodies against the antigen. These antibodies are only detectable after 12 weeks or 90 days . This is known as serological window period.
HIV Dna PCR detects the virus antigen and does not rely on detection of antibodies. This is considered as diagnostic test with high specificity and sensitivity approaching nearly 100 % . This test is positive as early as 7 days after infection. Negative Dna PCR test certainly rules out HIV infection.
There is absolutely no cause for concern. Rest be assured.
Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
Take care
