Does A Shadow On An MRI Scan Mean Cancer?
Any lump (benign or malignant) can be called a shadow.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Can you please quote the MRI result.
It is really hard to answer your question having only a handful of information. Was this shadow located in the bones or soft tissues?
The medical term "shadow" is used to name an area which gives different color than other tissues. Rounded shadow can be a cancer but can be something else as well. This is possible. But its really to early to tell. This can be any other lump (benign or malignant).
If its in soft tissues, biopsy or removal should be done to check it by a pathologist.
If its in the bones, most common sources of bones tumors (prostate cancer) should be ruled out.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
Arthritis usually does not give shadow like changes in MRI.
Detailed Answer:
Like I have mentioned before, I have only a handful of information. This is not enough to tell what exactly this might be. Arthritis usually causes joint changes. In the spine it usually gives spine disc degeneration. This does not give a shadow in MRI.
