Does Anal Irritation And Burning Sensation Around Penis Indicate STDs?
Question: Dear Doctor,
I had a protected sex more than a month back with a girl status unknown.
Week later I started getting anal irritation and burning sensation around pencil. Told about the encounter to the doctor and he took a swab test which comes negative and he told there is no std and gave antibiotic.
But anal irritation continued.then met a skin specialist and he too dint find any discharge and told things are ok. But irrigation continued and met a pile specialist and he told there is XXXXXXX infection and gave me a cream and the irritarion comes down. Also getting burning sensation on both my hands and doctor gave a rapid blood test called VDRL after a month and it is non reactive and he told dont worry about it, things are ok.
Still confused plz advice.

Burning hands is not related to STDs.Look for any rash.Otherwise avoid any irritants or chemicals. Use cleanser, moisturizers.
The anal irritation may be due to fungal infection or hemorrhoids or irritation.If no anal intercourse the irritation is unlikely to be due to STDs.
Wear loose cotton inner wears.
See that there is ventilation.
Do not use harsh soaps or detergents.
Clean area with warm water twice daily. You can use gentle cleanser.
See that there is no friction or irritation.

Dear Doctor,
Thank you very much for your valuable advise.
It was only a vaginal intercourse and have some feel my pencil might have touched something before condom is on.
I never had such irritating in my hands and there is no rashes unless few dots which looks normal.
I was confused and took a elisa method hiv test by end of week six and its negative.
Kindly advice on further test if required.

It is good that Elisa for HIV is negative after 6 weeks.It suggests you are unlikely to have contracted HIV from that episode. But conclusive will be to undergo this test again after 3 months.
You can allay fears totally .

-hepatitis B antibodies
-hepatitis C antibodies
These can be done after 3 months along with Elisa for HIV.
