Brief Answer:
Consultation

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

First of all I like to inform you that none of the prescribed medications have any role on sperm quality and structure of sperm and no deleterious effect expected due to any of these medications. So it can be said that if a man want to impregnate and father a child it completely safe when it comes about effect of medication.

Now coming to your next question I like to inform you that the chances of bipolar disorder in offspring of bipolar patient is less than 25% when one parent is bipolar and less than 50% when both parents are bipolar. On the lower side the chances of getting bipolar disorder for a child in his life time is around 10% or more when either of parents have bipolar disorder. So it can be stated that the risk lies between 10-50% when both parents are bipolar and 10-25% when one parent is bipolar.

There is no literature to suggest that 75% of children with bipolar parents develop bipolar disorder.

I hope this helps you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.
