Does Bilerubin Of 1.1. It Went Up From 0.7 Increase Mean Pancreatic Cancer?
Question: My name is XXXXXXX and thanks for your time. My last labs I had a bilerubin of 1.1. It went up from 0.7 and has always fluctuated throughout my life. I am a type 1 diabetic going on 25 years now. Does this increase mean pancreatic cancer? My alkaline p was 61 if this matters but I also heard this rises is PC. Thanks
Brief Answer:
It's normal we treat symptoms not numbers.
Detailed Answer:
Hi ,
Have seen your details and I appreciate your concerns,
Firstly Bilirubin levels less then 3mg/dl has no clinical significance...In easy words it has not considered significant.
Slight rise of enzymes are normal.
Basically a doctor treat symptoms not numbers.
So if you go for 5 tests some numbers would be up or down and that's absolutely normal.
In pancreatic cancer the level does mot rise slightly rather it rises to almost 100 times the normal value.
For me you just need to increase dose of insulin rest everything is ok.
Thank you and feel free to follow up.
