Does Constipation In A Newborn Require A Medical Consultation?
Question: Hi ,
Baby not doing potty from last 4 days..he is 3 months old.earlier used to do potty every day 1-2 times.Now no potty from last 4 days but doing urinal on normal basis .We are giving breastfeed and also lactogen milk feed from 3rd month onwards after every 2.5-3 hours.Also giving aristozyme 1-2 times from last 3-4 days it whenever he not able to do potty earlier as prescribed. please tell what to do..is it ok for child to take 3-4 days ..or we have to go visit doctor for physical verification

Hi... I understand your concern. Usually breast fed babies of this age can go on like this even for 10 days at a stretch.
If the baby is feeding normally, urinating normally, not having abdominal distension or consistent vomiting or green colored vomiting, otherwise playful and active, you need not worry at all.
You need not go to doctor regarding this. But if the baby has got any of the other manifestations as enumerated above, then you consult your pediatrician.
