Does Consumption Of Alcohol Lead To Elevated Trygliceride Level?

Question: Hi my blood results for tryglecirides came back 325 how can I bring them down!? I'm 37 years old, I do drink on weekends you think the alcohol raises then that high?
Brief Answer:
Yes, alcohol can be partially responsible for that.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Generally diet has the greatest impact on triglicerides. However alcohol does not help for sure.
First of all you should modify your diet. Avoiding fatty and fried foods should improve your triglicerides level. You should also replace animal fats with vegetable oils (try margarine instead of butter for example). Try to avoid alcohol.
If the diet modification wont help, you should start medicines called statins (like atorvastatine).
Hope this helps. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
