Does Consumption Of Cocaine Have Negative Effects On Fathering A Child?
Question: Hi, me and my wife are in a month trying to conceive a baby with assisted help. Stupidly I did some cocaine with some friends last weekend. My wife never used. Will my sperm be a danger to the child if we try out in exactly a month from now, so exact 33 days after the incident? Is it possible that the child could get side effects, like learning disabilities, hyperactivity etc from this episode. I am not a regular user and last time I did it before this weekend was about 2 months ago. I will not do this again. What is your thoughts about this?

Hi...I understand your concern. I am also glad that you are promising not to do it anymore.
Coming to the technical details - the half life (the amount time the drug will stay in the human body in full concentration) of cocaine is only 60 minutes. Taking this short half life into consideration I don't think you need to worry. Moreover you have told that you are not a regular user.
I suggest you not to use it anymore hereafter and be rest assured.
But at the same time as the regular check up warrants anomaly scans during pregnancy (for your wife) are a must and I suggest you tell the radiologist or sonologist who is performing the anomaly scan about this cocaine ingestion.

So even if there was a bit of cocaine used over 5 hours it is still no danger? Also is 32 days enough time to exchange the bad sperm influenced by cocaine? There will be scanned performed during pregnancy but as I understand from you there is no dangee
