Does Continuous Usage Of Ciprofloxacin Cause Abdominal Trauma?
Question: Hi doc
I'm 25 suffering from anxiety at the moment.
At year I had prostatitis and have been getting treatment within the last year with ciprofloxacin 500mg?
I am now cured and the pain in rectum.which I was having has disappeared.
After recent antibiotic treatment I developed flatulence symptoms, and pain in my abdominal area which has got better, I had a physical examination done by a doctor who said all is well.
My concern is I took just 5 courses of antibiotics pack size of 56 which ate around 280 tablets within the last year.
My concern is would ciprofloxacin have damaged anything inside my body such as any organs and will I have any long term effects? Or problems.I was prescribed my first course last year
Please let me know.
How long does it take to fully recover from Antibiotics
I had blood works done in 2014 which were OK
But feeling a bit anxious as th eh are strong antibiotics?

But the drugs are metabolized in the body and excreted out.
So, if your liver function and kidney function tests are normal, then there is no need to worry. There would be no long term harmful effects on body if these tests are normal.

I've had a physical examination of my liver would this be OK? The doctor said therees nothing wrong.
Also if there was a problem what would the the symptoms be?
As I am now off the medication and if there is a problem will the problem go away by itself? As I dont really want to test further as I have no pain behind lower back (kidneys) or liver?

There might be deranged liver function tests. Physical examination will not reveal this.
If there is some problem, you can avoid fatty foods and can take liv-52 ayurvedic tablets, if needed.
The liver will get normal in sometime, if there is problem.
The symptoms are commonly gastric symptoms, like flatulence, acidity, diarrhea etc.
Pain is not necessarily a symptom of liver or kidney problem.
Anyhow, if your doctor is sure that you are fine, then you can trust him and do not worry.
