Does Costochondritis Cause Soreness In The Chest?
Question: my ortho doctor says I have costochondritis. I have all the symptoms. Some of the soreness goes into my breast close to the middle of my chest and chest bone. Is this a symptom, too? My doctor said I could possibly have some fibromyalgia, too.
Brief Answer:
Fibromyalgia is unlikely.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The possibility of Costochondritis is significantly high as per symptoms.
Fibromyalgia is unlikely considering symptoms of chest discomfort alone.
But it's very important to rule the cardiac cause of chest discomfort on a preliminary basis. For this, I advise you to get a baseline ECG and chest x-ray along with 2D Echocardiogram.
Hope I have answered your query.
Take care
