Does Decreased Growth Hormone Level Have Capacity To Cause Some Growth?
Normally at end of puberty , growth hormones decline. lets suppose certain internal organs havnt finished growing yet...does a decreased growth hormone level still have capacity to cause some growth ??

Hello XXXXXXX
Good day.
Growth of organs are not determined by growth hormone alone. Growth need combined actions of several factors and hormones. For example, Growth hormone.Thyroid hormone, parathyroid hormone related peptide ( PTHrP), good nutrition, genetic factors etc.
As you rightly pointed out, growth hormone secretion is at its maximum at puberty. During that time, mainly skeletal growth and final development of sex organs occurs.
However, skeletal and sex organ development need contribution from sex hormones ( testosterone, estrogen etc) and thyroid hormones as well .
Now coming to your question, if any organ hasnt developed fully during puberty, there still can be some growth of the organs due to the action of other hormones ( which i mentioned earlier) . Factors like IGF-1 ( insulin like growth factor), Insulin etc also has growth promoting actions.
This is a tough question and i have tried to explain it at my level best. Please feel to ask further if you need clarifications.

Regarding if organ hasnt fully developed during puberty, you mention action from other hormones can help with growth...but what about the 'low' growth hormone itself, even if low can it still contribute to some growth?
It sounds as though there needs to be certain 'target level' for growth hormone to be present before growth can occur?

Hello,
Yes, the low levels of GH can still promote some growth beyond puberty, ( but not beyond the maximum growth potential of organ). There should be a target level of GH for the actions to occur. Besides, the target organ should have enough receptors for GH and IGF-1 for growth to occur.
If GH is in excess ( as in conditions like Acromegaly, it can promote excessive organ growth in adult life too)

I have a question regarding steroids i took age 14, and its effects on my behaviour. Its possible this drug caused me to be aggresive...but would this have been my first experience of 'androgen influenced aggresive behavior' ??
I know we have high androgens as babies but not sure if it led to aggression back then?
Thanks and Best Regards

Hello,
Good day.
Yes, i remember you. I had answered your puberty initiation relted questions last month. Hope you are doing well.
Yes, puberty initiation with steroid hormones ( androgens) can cause some aggressive behaviour. But as i mentioned earlier, this is not the only responsible factor for aggression. In that case all males will be aggressive at puberty. Aggression is enhanced by androgens, but a component of family/society etc influence this.
Adult range of androgens are produced in male babies starting one month after birth until around 6 months after birth. This is important for sexual organ development and is called as XXXXXXX puberty. This will bring in some aggression, but new born brains are too immature to express this aggression. Often male babies are difficult to control aompared to female babies.
