Brief Answer:
Yes. Blood loss can cause infertility.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The excessive blood loss that requires transfusions can cause necrosis of the pituitary gland causing the absence of periods. The pituitary gland may appear normal on MRI scan but it is not functional.
In your case the blood loss is the most likely cause of absence of periods and then infertility.

as usual you are greatest: Same female has absolutely no problems during pregnancy and tested regularly 10/10 bio physical and normal fetal movements as per XXXXXXX 25 testing. Sees Dr next night Tue XXXXXXX 26 He agrees tells her fine and to lie on side if she wants to check kick. Tells her to call wed XXXXXXX 28 AM tells him all is well but should she have concern about kick tells her to come to delivery section of hospital (37bweeks at this point) When she arrives tells her everything is fine but he is going on vacation and since baby is doing fine he wants to deliver baby early. She reluctantly agrees baby born with respiratory distress. He now tells her for first time he delivered baby early due to "decreased fetal" movement in absence of any testing to determine decreased fetal movement or not. Question: Is decreased fetal movement standing alone without any confirming test sufficient reason to deliver baby early thank you
doctor
Answered by Dr. Dr. Rakhi Tayal (13 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
It should be confirmed with BPP or stress test.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Only decreased fetal movement without any testing like stress test is not a reason sufficient enough to cause an early delivery. There should be a decrease in biophysical score also in case the baby movement is actually less.
Hope my answer is helpful.
