Does Fungus Infection In Body Affect Blood Sugar Level?
Question: I am curious, has there been any studies or mentions of fungus or some sort of parasite causing the liver to put out more sugar than needed, causing diabetes? That is, that the liver is putting out sugar because it is feeding something such as fungi or similar and this is the reason for high blood sugar levels--anything of that nature mentioned in studies? How can one tell if one's liver is bothered by a fungus, covered with a fungus, or something that causes the liver to put out excess sugar?
Brief Answer:
Eosinophilic count and LFT
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your message.
I think I can help you.
Fungal infection are always associated with the eosinophilic infiltration.
I suggest testing a CBC with ESR.
ESR may be high of you are already diabetic.
If there is a fungal infection, Eosinophil count will be raised.
Besides if the liver is involved then liver functions are also affected.
So Liver function test will also be raised.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal
