Question: Does genetic mutation in sperm cell occur if one's smoking tobacco and chewing gutka for 8years.will the defects appear in my offspring. I'm trying to have a baby , is the damage irreversible? How to manage it?

In many patients the motility,morphology and total count has increased after stopping smoking .Smoking may cause genetic mutation which can be improved by stopping smoking .Even the sperm DNA fragmentation study has showed that the morphology improves after stopping smoking .Minimum duration must be 6 months.
