Question : Does having a morgagni hernia always require surgery? XXXXX
Brief Answer:
No, it’s not always required, if no strangulation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood your concern. Morgagni hernia (congenital diaphragmatic hernia) is rare form of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia and they have low risk of prolapse. Surgery is not required if the hernia is not clinically presented. Surgery is only indicated when there is clinical presentation of strangulation. Keeping up to date radiological checkup would help you. Beware of respiratory distress and G.I obstruction, which indicates emergency operation. Surgery solely depends on the radio diagnosis and its presentation.
