Thanks for your query,
Estimation of Serum PSA is highly sensitive test for screening of cancer of prostate.
It may also get elevated in conditions that alter the of prostate cellular architecture e.g enlarge prostate,cancer of the prostate ,infection of the prostate etc.

PSA elevation can also occur with prostate manipulation such as ejaculation, prostate examination,(Digital Rectal Examination) hence the test is normally done after 3-4 days of ejaculation or Digital rectal examination.
