Does Hepatitis C Spread By Touching Clothes Of Infected Person?
Question: A few weeks ago I was working with an individual who is Hep C+.He was using a small rag to wipe sweat off his head because it was hot. The rag fell from his shoulder and I picked it up with my fingertips to hand back to him. I'm not sure if there was blood or any other substance on it, or if I had any cuts on my fingers or what I did with my fingers afterward.
If there were blood on the towel, am I at risk of obtaining hep c?

Infection unlikely in your case.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query at HCM.
I would like to tell you that you did not had any needle prick injury so there is no risk of hepatitis C transmission in your case. The hepatitis C does not spread by you touching clothes of infected. You must not worry and I advise you no tests. Be careful in future while handling such patients and wear gloves.
Take care
