Does Herpes Cause Lesions On The Skin?

Question: Does this look like herpes?
Brief Answer:
Highly unlikely to be herpes.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
I have gone through the query and attached image.
This lesion is highly unlikely to be herpes since the appearance of herpes is completely different.
However,if you could provide me some more information regarding the lesion, then it will be helpful for me to understand it better.
Since when you have noticed it?
Is there any itching or burning?
any history of unprotected sex recently?
Regards,
Dr.Sandip Kabra

Brief Answer:
either due to friction or dermatitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for more information.
In that case,it is either due to friction or dermatitis but very very unlikely to be herpes or fungal infection.
Topical steroidal cream like betamethsone or clobetasol may be helpful along with oral antihistamine like benadryl or avil.
You will need to see dermatologist for clinical examination of this lesion and for steroid prescription till the time I will advise NOT to have sex for few days.
Hope this helps.
