Brief Answer:
Nothing seems to be concerned.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

Heart rate of 90 is not so high but it was pounding (means you had palpitations) which could be due to anxiety or stress, gastric reflux, dyspepsia in an otherwise healthy individuals.

Mostly this palpitations are temporary and get subsided by themselves without any treatment.

In you case,it is likely related to your too much food consumption with alcohol which might have cause dyspepsia or gastric trouble.

Since the symptoms subsided by itself and heart rate also came to normal (60 heart is also normal) then there is nothing to be concerned.

So,there is no need to see a doctor at present, however if symptoms persists or comes repeatedly then I would suggest you to see a doctor for physical examination and EKG.

Hope this helps and let me know if you need more clarifications.

Brief Answer:
Sympathetic over activity.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for asking again,

As I mentioned earlier, dyspepsia or gastric reflux may also cause heart palpitations which is NOT uncommon among people.

The probable reason could be heartburn or chest burning due to dyspepsia or gastric reflux and it stimulates sympathetic system.

This sympathetic over activity causes temporary increase in heart rate and heart fluttering or pounding feeling which we called as heart palpitations.

But as I said earlier, this symptom is temporary and get resolved by itself within few hours without any definitive treatment.

Hope this helps.

Brief Answer:
May be but can't say without examination.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.

In holiday heart syndrome, irregular heartbeat (means sometimes too fast or slow with skipper beats) usually seen which is a kind arrhythmia and it get resolved by itself within few hours.

Here, it might be in your case but we can't say exactly without measuring pulsations and EKG.It could also be a sinus tachycardia with regular rhythm.

Means, during heart pounding or fluttering heart beat does not necessarily abnormal. The rhythm can also normal.

In either of the case, there is nothing to be concerned.
