Does Hysterectomy Cause Vaginal Vault Prolapse And Spinal Injury?
Question: Is it true that once you have a hysterectomy, the four sets of ligaments that holds the uterus in place is what supports the women's structure for the core (midsection). When the ligaments are severed to remove the uterus, the spine compresses causing the rib cage to gradually fall toward the hip bones and causing the hips to get wider, which makes the women's waist disappear and her belly protrude and look flabby?
Brief Answer:
No it is not true.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
During hysterectomy it is true that we cut ligaments which supports the uterus and sometimes it may cause vault prolapse.
But it has no effect on spine.
After hysterectomy hormonal imbalance may cause increased belly fat.
Hope found useful, feel free to ask more information.
Good luck.

Does vault prolapse causes the waist to disappear? Does that mean I will loose a few inches in height? Is there anyway to avoid vault prolapse?
Brief Answer:
No it will not cause.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Sorry for the delay in my response.
No vault prolapse does not cause any effect on waist and height.
Actually vault prolapse can be prevented,if proper care can be taken during surgery in cutting sacrococcygeal ligaments.
But you can see other option before going for surgery to prevent other complications, most likely hormonal imbalance.

Good luck.
