Does Inability To Complete A Transvaginal Ultrasound Affect Ovaries Surgery?

Question: I was uable to complete a pelvic ultrasound transvaginally. Does this affect my operation on my ovaries
Brief Answer:
Depends on the diagnosis.
Detailed Answer:
Dear member,
Thanks for writing to healthcare magic.
The transvaginal ultrasound is only one of the method to assess pelvis.
If you are uncomfortable the transabdominal usg can also achieve similar results without much discomfort.
The tests prescribed also depend on the diagnosis and reason for surgery.
Do you have any ovarian lesions/ cysts/ mass? What is the surgery you are advised?
If necessary then other tests like CT scan pelvis/ MRI required.
If you don't have significant pelvic pathology then a simple ultrasound through your abdomen will be enough.
Please write back with details.
Thanks
