Does Increased Dosage Of Candesartan Cause Skin Flushing?

Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome to HCM!
Regarding your concern, I would explain that the usual Candesartan increasing schedule is starting with 4mg daily and increasing by doubling the dose every two weeks up to 32mg based on the I dividual tolerance.
So, if you have at least two weeks on 4mg daily, and your attending physician has concluded that a greater dosage would yield greater benefits regarding your hypertension or heart failure ( whichever is the reason of Candesartan use), than switching to 8mg is not premature.
From the other side, your red flushed face is more likely to be an adverse effect of Candesartan, probably angioedema (which is immunologically mediated).
Also rash and peripheral edema has been occasionally noted while taking Candesartan.
To conclude, I would like to explain that angioedema is not dose related and as such, it would be better to discuss with your prescribing doctor, on this obvious adverse effect and consider the possibility to stop Candesartan and switch to a safer alternative medication.
