Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Inflammatory bowels disease increases the risk of colon cancer indeed. In most cases this is Crohns disease or Ulcerative Colitits. But this risk is higher after 8 years of disease activity. That is why inflammatory bowels disease patients should have colonoscopy every 1-2 years starting 8 years after the diagnosis.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

I havent technically been diagnosed with crohns. Just blood work says i have it. But im 25 and have a polyp so i am worried its cancerous. A scope the year before the one in august was totally normal
Brief Answer:
.
Detailed Answer:
Blood work can not be used to diagnose inflammatory bowels disease. If this was not confirmed during the colonoscopy, you do not have it. So the risk of colon cancer at your case is minimal. Even with the polyp removal.
Colon cancer is extremely rare at your age, and is the last cancer you should think of.
