Does Intake Of Doxinate Help In Preventing Nausea And Vomiting During Pregnancy?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: Hi Doctor,
Dear Doctor,
My wife is pregnant (approx 7-8 weeks). She feels vomitish every morning and generally she vomits as soon as she takes water in the morning. This is happening for around 3-4 days. She feels vomitish during the day as well but generally that feeling subsides. But, in the morning as soon as she takes water or medicine (thyronorm 25 mcg), she vomits.
She is taking Doxinate twice daily as suggested by Gynecologist.
Any suggestions from your side on this condition will be helpful. Shall she take anything else instead of water as the first thing in the morning?

Brief Answer:
Morning sickness common in early pregnancy
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.Nausea and vomiting in the morning is common in early pregnancy.
She should take 4 tablets of Doxinate in a day, one each in the morning and afternoon, and 2 tablets at bedtime.
She should avoid taking liquids on waking up.
She should take dry toast or biscuits in the morning on waking up.
She should avoid spicy food and should not worry.
This will gradually subside by 12 weeks of gestation.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Hi Doctor,
Thanks for your reply.
She is taking Thyronorm 25 mcg which is supposed to be taken empty stomach so, that medicine is the first thing she takes in the morning and generally vomits after that. Can she take this medicine after having biscuits?
What shall we do in sach a case?

Hi dear, she should take thyronorm empty stomach only, but only with a sip of water.
