Does Intake Of Duphaston Help In Supporting Pregnancy?

Question: hi i was on clomid 150mg(3rd cycle) day 2-6 and then on 11th day the follicle was 11mm and no growth on 14th day but on 20th day it was 21mm. Doc gave me HCG injection on that day. and asked us to try for 2 days.
and on day 23rd i was asked to duphaston 10mg for 12 days. Will it work??

Hello Mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I understand your anxiety about the issue.
21 mm is a good size before rupture and hcg injection when given for trigger provides good ovulation output and duphaston gives good support to pregnancy once it happens.
But matter of concern in your case is poor growth of developing follicle in 23 days and just a single follicle despite high dose of clomiphene.
So chances of poor egg quality are high, in case this cycle fails then discuss the use of FSH injections along with clomiphene to increase maturity and quality of eggs.

Hello Doc,

Thanks for the advice.

Yesterday night I had severe migraine attack and was hospitalised. There i was injected with the following:

Inj. Pan 40mg
Inj. Emeset 4mg
Inj. Tra adsl 50mg
Inj. Maidens 1 mg
IVF NS @ 150ml/hr

And I have been asked to take tab. Doll 650mg and tab. Pan 40mg for 3 days.

So is it safe to take the above medicines while I am under pregnancy treatment( hcg inj. And duphaston 10mg).

Hi Doc,

I am very anxious to know the result whether i am pregnant or not and the wait is literally killing me.
I could not hold myself from doing a pregnency test at home and the result was negative.
2 things to keep in mind:
1) hcg shot was taken on 11th feb , 5000 iu
2) pregnancy test was done in the evening on 17th feb.

Does this means that i am not pregnant or is it a "false negative" and chances are there that i can still be pregnant?

Too early to test

Hello Mam, I understand your anxiety completely but it is futile to test for pregnancy so soon and thus will only serve to increase your anxiety.
Wait for at least 15 days after hcg shot to have a result on urine pregnancy test.
It is a sensitive assay but still needs 15 days so just relax and don't panic like this which is indeed very bad for your own hormone levels.
Just indulge yourself in your daily routine and let's hope for the best.
