default
Posted on Sat, 25 Jun 2016
Question: I am suffering from really bad anxiety to the point that I was put on Lorazapam as needed. I also recently started on my Lexapro 20 mg again. I also have peripheral neuropathy so I take 900mg of Gabapentin daily. My headaches and dizziness as subsided from the Lexapro but I am still suffering from panic attacks. Sometimes I just have to take the Lorazapam even though I don't want to. I also take Trazodone 100mg at night.

Brief Answer:
I think you are right medication

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

Presence of panic attacks respond well to SSRI group of medications including lexapro but it takes long time to show effect in panic attacks. It is possible that with time your need for lorazepam will go down as lexapro starts taking care of anxiety as well as panic attacks.

I think you are right medication and over time will feel more comfortable in regard to anxiety and panic attacks. Taking lorazepam on as need basis is right strategy for you to avoid any kind of dependence or cognitive decline for you.

I hope this helps you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regards.
