Does Intake Of Tramadol Cause Seizure?

Im currently taking 50mg BID PRN.
If not taking other drugs risk is very low.
Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.
That dosage of Tramadol you have been prescribed is not a high one, can be taken at higher dosage. Generally speaking Tramadol is listed among drugs which lowers seizure threshold, meaning they increase the likelihood of having a seizure.
However that happens usually in patients who have a history of seizures or in those who take other medications which lower seizure threshold such as some antidepressants or antipsychotics. In the absence of these factors the risk of seizures is very very low. So if you do not take other medication and since you say to have no history of seizure I would say the risk of Tramadol causing a seizure for that dosage is very small and it shouldn’t be a cause for concern.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for the additional information.
Most common side effects I encounter in my patients are constipation, nausea, somnolence, and dizziness. However every drug has common and rare side effects, literature mentions other rare side effects as well. Among these less common side effects for Tramadol are also anxiety and emotional lability which in turn may manifest such sensations as you describe, especially if you are someone prone to anxiety. So if you have noticed these side effects after starting Tramadol it may be a contributing factor.
