Does Kidney Stone Cause Left Abdominal Pain?

Question: I've got pain on my left side of back. How do I know if it's a sprained back or a kidney stone?
Brief Answer:
Pain due to kidney stones is generally accompanied by nausea & vomiting
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Pain due to kidney stones is generally accompanied by nausea or vomiting and usually radiates from groin area. However, these classic symptoms may not be present in many people with kidney stones. An ultrasound abdomen/pelvis is a helpful test to rule out Kidney stones.
Pain due to sprained back is present with palpation of effected region but it may not be present in kidney stones. But just by physical findings and symptoms experienced it's extremely difficult to distinguish between the two.
Thanks
