Brief Answer:
Possible only if recent lacquer spraying exposure

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Lacquer thinner inhalation usually takes place when the spraying of the paint takes place, there have been minimal cases of individuals falling sick living in a house which was lacquer painted 2 years ago.

Although you have not mentioned when the lacquer was sprayed, or whether it is sprayed frequently. If that is the case, then please make sure their house is well ventilate throughout the day, avoid staying in the house during the spraying and for at least 2 days after the paint has been sprayed.

The damage which can be caused by exposure to lacquer inhalation can result in serious outcomes like cardiac events and other milder symptoms like dizziness, breathlessness, etc.

But if the lacquer was sprayed 2 years ago, then a more likely scenario would be exposure to mould, fungus, and other health hazards that are commonly seen in log houses. But that does not mean we rule out the lacquer exposure. Exposure to lacquer can result in cardiac abnormalities that can lower their immunity, which is why a complete health checkup would be mandatory for your sons entire family.

I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.

Best wishes.
